Activities in Chile commenced in 1987 with the project to construct the Alfalfal hydraulic tunnel, followed a few years later by the Pangue hydroelectric plant.
Astaldi has recently signed a contract with the Australian group Pacific Hydro to construct the Chacayes hydroelectric plant. This plant forms part of the Alto Cachapoal development project which involves the construction of over 6km of tunnels and a complex water supply system.
The agreement with the Australian group also includes an exclusive clause for the construction of other hydroelectric plants in Chile in the future.
