Following a long period of absence – from the mid 1990s on – Peru features once again as an area of major interest in Astaldi’s development policies.
A market where, over the coming years, efforts will be made to ensure further consolidation of the Group’s leadership at an international level, especially in the energy production plants sector.
The Peruvian market reopened for Astaldi in 2009 with awarding of the contract to construct the Huanza hydroelectric plant (92MW), the Group’s only site in operation at the present time in Peru. As far as the past is concerned, mention is to be made of construction of the Lima light rail (25 km of track , 1991-1995).
To date, Astaldi boasts a permanent operating office in Peru which is responsible for commercial development and strategic support for projects in progress.
