Construction period
2006-in progress
The new academy for police sergeants and officers in Florence, commissioned by the Ministry of Infrastructures, has been conceived as a small self-sufficient residence, organised around the needs of students and on-site operators. The academy will be split into four functional centres, two of which will be used to accommodate students and executives, distributed over a large surface area. The centre to be used for sports activities involves the construction of a football and athletics stadium, an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and gyms.
While the logistic centre includes an auditorium, classrooms, cafeteria
and kitchens, clubs, infirmary, command offices, executive
accommodation, shooting range and technological areas. As far as all
the works are concerned, the project makes use predominantly of
prefabricated elements to guarantee the quality of the works and
construction timeframes.
