Description

Commissioned by Turkey's Health Ministry, the initiative involves designing, building, supplying with electrical and medical equipment and furnishings, and running a 3,500-bed hospital complex, divided into 8 healthcare facilities and a hotel, all totalling about 1,080,000 sqm. 

Location of the Project is Varllk Quarter (Yenimahalle District), in Ankara Province, in Turkey. It is one of the largest PPP projects being undertaken in the current privatisation process of the healthcare sector in Turkey. The campus shall meet the need of provinces in the region, in particular, in Ankara with a population of over 4 million people, for healthcare services. 

More in detail, the project includes a medical science university, a high technology and R&D center, commercial areas, an administration building, congress centers and an underground carpark, testing of all the hospital facilities; supply and installation of mechanical, electronic, electrical and electro-security systems; the furbishing of all the facilities including the hospital facilities and the supply of medical equipment; maintenance of the new facilities, including programmed and reactive maintenance and lifecycle works and energy management, grounds, land and property management.

Concession is structured on a 28.5-year design, build, finance, operate and transfer model, with a 42-month construction period and 25-year operating period. It will generate employment for approx. 20,000 people. When commissioned fully, the campus population will be 50,000 together with patients and medical personnel.
