ASTALDI has announced it has signed an agreement for the sale of its interest in the concessionary company of the Chacayes hydroelectric power plant in Chile, to PACIFIC HYDRO CHILE, owner of the remaining 72.70% and the Chilean subsidiary of the Chinese group SPIC Overseas.

The stake sold Astaldi, equal to 27.30%, was valued at approximately US$ 44 million, including the subordinated loan.

The agreement envisages that the transaction’s closing will take place by 31 March 2017, after the planned authorisation process is completed.

The agreement is in line with ASTALDI’s strategies.

SPIC (State Power Investment Corporation) is one of the biggest Chinese State electricity producers, and is also active abroad in 35 countries around the world, including Chile.

The Chacayes hydroelectric power plant – the country’s first completely environmentally compatible plant – was built by Astaldi in the Upper Cachapoal Region, and has a power of 110 MW.
